Repattern Your Brain, Repattern Your Life

You can repattern your brain to repattern your life. The automatic responses that drive your responses to situations you meet in life are based on your emotional and survival memories created by your life experiences. Whether you have experienced physical, emotional or chronic stress, you can work with the brain-body connection to experience greater integrity in your wellness and wellbeing.

“Whatever the circumstances of a child’s early life, and whatever the history and current state of that child, every human has the built-in power to improve, to change for the better, to significantly restore, and often to recover. Tomorrow, that person you see in the mirror can be a stronger, more capable, livelier, more powerfully centered, and still-growing person.”~Michael Merzenich

. The good news is that neural pathways can be altered through neuroplasticity. Resonance Repatterning® The process accesses established pathways that register in your muscles, tissues, muscles, organs, and glands through the Resonance Muscle-Checking process. Natural modalities of color, light, sound, movement, breath, fragrance, energetic contact, and consciousness science introduce new brainwaves, awareness, and neurotransmitters to create neurosynthesis and plasticity. This relies on the memory information stored in your body-mind system to create neuroplasticity by updating and changing function.

The Brain-Body Connection

These brain areas are examples of how thinking, feeling and action are connected between your mind and body.

Pre-Frontal Cortex: When the Pre-Frontal Cortex is in control, it allows you to be fully engaged in the present of your life so you can resonate with expanding your awareness, feeling, thinking, and acting as you open to new possibilities. This is where you can explore your connections with others. When the pre-frontal cortex is under-active in this brain area you can experience brain fog, difficulties with attention, focus, ability to follow through, decision-making, and disorganization.

Limbic Brain: The Limbic Brain colors how you process your emotions. This part of your brain affects your autonomic nervous system including blood sugar, hormones, temperature, respiration, and heart rate. This portion of the brain discerns feelings of safety or danger through the Amygdala. The Hippocampus embeds memory into the nervous system related to life-enhancing or depleting experiences. This creates the connection between your thoughts and feelings that influence your body responses through the HPA Axis.

The Cerebellum allows your system to create implicit memories that become automatic starting with learning skills and mastering a task. Over time this recall becomes automatic and unconscious affecting your thoughts and behaviors.

“Conscious thoughts, repeated often enough, become unconscious thinking.”~Dr. Joe Dispenza

Resonance Repatterning and Brain-Body Connection

The process of Resonance Repatterning, from the brain’s perspective, works by transforming the neural pathways through awareness, new information and experience. This changes while working at the frequency levels in specific brain areas, brain waves, and neurotransmitters. Changing neural responses in your brain is a conscious process that shifts your resonance with what nerve responses take place in your body and your mind.

As a hypothetical example, let’s say that in a session the issue in your life is related to an inability to focus, disorganization, and impulsivity. The issue thought statement might be “I can’t get anything done.”The feeling state your share might be “I feel scared and confused.” Checking in with how to create coherent neural pathways for new behavior through muscle-checking the statement “I focus on the task at hand,” might be the new possibility. The neurotransmitter or peptide that would support the shift would be checked from a list along with its benefits to enhance neural communications in your mind and body A frequency of light for the Hypothalamus with a color that muscle-checks for the missing color/light frequency would be considered to energize your system. Natural activities would be checked to enhance new connections in your body-mind system. for this example, let’s say the action of deep breathing checked in. A coherent statement from the identified brain area would be included. In this case, we work with the pre-frontal cortex. The coherent statement would be “I stay calm and focused and manifest my plans through effective actions.”  A frequency of a brainwave would be fused into the mix as well. For the sake of this example, an Alpha brainwave with a range of 8-13 cps would be muscle-checked for the exact frequency among the four options for brainwaves including delta, theta, alpha, and beta to decrease anxiety and bring focus.

All of these parts work at the frequency level with the material to create greater coherence, harmony, and balance in your body-mind system. The muscle-checking system in this process is then used to check for shifts in your system. You are ON or resonate with your new intentions when your thoughts, emotions, and body are wired for specific neural pathways that fire and connect your responses related to your positive intentions. You are OFF when neural pathways are inhibited or do not fire in the same habitual way related to the issues you brought to the session. With muscle-checking at the beginning and completion of the session, your system registers the shifts with your change in resonance.

These nerve impulsesin your brain communicate thoughts, feelings, sensations, and responses throughout your body. When your body and mind experience greater harmony and balance between your Autonomic, Parasympathetic, and Sympathetic Nervous Systems, this is reflected in the way you think, how you feel and respond to life, and what actions you take to create new possibilities.

Resonance Repatterning® Sessions are based on working with your body-mind-spirit systems’ ability to repattern your body-mind-spirit system. This means that the pain you experience on any level can be an opportunity for creating new possibilities in your life.

Transforming Stress: The Heart-Mind Connection

Your heart-mind connection contributes to transforming stress. Stress is a natural occurrence in your daily life. However, when chronic stress takes over by rumination, anxiety, worry, obsessive negative emotional states this creates confusion in your life.

On the physical level, science shows that in these instances, your heart beat and function change. Your digestion of food becomes more of a challenge. Your breath rate and blood pressure shift. Your Nervous System moves from the Parasympathetic or rest, digest and heal state into the Sympathetic state of preparation for danger and escape.

This escape mechanism when not interrupted or addressed can lead to a perpetual loop of worry, fear, anxiety, and need for numbing the overwhelm. You might be able to identify an experience in your life where you have experienced this chain reaction. And, even if you have tried different ways to calm the stress cycle with food, drink, running or moving away from a stressful situation, taking on a person or situation that you have no power to change, or shutting down and isolating, the loop is still there. It can attempt to serve you with anger, criticism of yourself or others, hate, jealousy, and even isolation. However, this can lead to a deep sense of hopelessness and energy depletion.

The loop still presides because there is a direct connection between your body and mind, your heart and your thinking. When negative emotions, thoughts, and beliefs have been cast into neural pathways in your mind, your beliefs, thoughts, and feelings are directly related to how your body responds to what life presents to you in any given moment even when you attempt to suppress them. They return.

If you have followed articles from this website, you know that the Fire Element in Chinese Medicine and your heart give you the opportunity to love, experience joy, warmth and connection with the ability to discern between what is energetically beneficial and what is not life-energizing. The Institute of HeartMath in San Diego has done research on the impact on the electrical field around the heart and brain in varied states. When the heart is stressed, the electromagnetic field is smaller than when the heart is focused on love, gratitude, joy, or appreciation. This created calm and coherence. This pattern turns out to correlate with the electromagnetic field of the brain. There is a synergy between the function and coherence of your heart and mind.

Transforming Stress with Your Heart

For example, if your mind is racing, it is an opportunity to ask the question is, “What is in your heart?” Stop for a moment to focus on your breath and tune into your heart. Get a reading of what you are experiencing in your heart area right now, what messages do you receive? Do you hear the stress or do you hear the connection to life-enhancing calm? Acceptance of where you are right now will support your entire body-mind system to register what is happening and influence your next steps.

,There is a healing relationship between what your survival and early emotional brain and your heart’s wisdom has to offer in addressing unconscious material stress responses. Bringing awareness and acceptance and tending to the origin of these habitual or automatic stress responses, your heart is capable of updating your long term memory. This allows you to experience more and more what you would like to experience in your life related to the values you would truly like to live today.

There is no day where you experience 100% happiness or sadness. There will be days that you experience stressful situations, and some more than others. Yet, within these days are the possibilities for noticing what is helpful, beautiful, joyful, and meaningful. The way to get more choice in your day is to allow your values to lead by accessing your heart’s reach into your mind to observe with kindness and connection what is happening. By seeing the stressful feelings, thoughts, and beliefs as the observer, you then offer an off ramp from the intensity and stress aligned with your values.

“When you stand with yourself in a self-compassionate, kind, loving way, life opens up and then you can turn toward meaning and purpose, and how you bring love, participation, beauty, and contributions into the lives of others.” ~Steven C. Hayes, founder of ACT Therapy

Transforming Stress with Your Mind

Here you can notice what is happening without being held captive. You can literally thank your mind for sharing. You can expand your flexibility of choice with each stress response by tuning into or just noticing your breath. You can detach or defuse from being tied to a negative a thought, belief or feeling to just notice or observe. A statement you might use is “I notice that I am having a thought that…,emotion of, or belief that…” This allows there to be a state of acceptance of what is happening right now. By letting it be, it is possible to give space to any underlying messages or needs, and this can calm your mind and your heart. This allows you to more coherently think, to feel, and then to act.

The pathway to unity between these healing agents creates greater wholeness. It creates room for your heart, mind, and emotions to function more optimally while restoring energy for your priorities.

This can happen with visualization, connecting to your true values for your day or longer term projects, meditation, and/or noticing what your mind believes is true through journaling. In this way, your commitment to wholeness is accessed through changing your breathing pattern, and noticing, with connection to your heart’s compassion. It allows an opportunity for calming your body-mind system and moving into greater flexibility, resilience, focused coherence, or the rest, digest and healing state.

This is an invitation to give yourself the opportunity to explore underlying material that needs your heart’s compassion, and to experience 10 natural modalities to use for creating calm for your mind and heart working together with your values for living life based on purpose.

Are You a Bulb That Carries Light or Light of Which the Bulb is a Vehicle?

Sunset (2)

What am I? Am I the bulb that carries the light, or am I the light of which the bulb is a vehicle?  ~Joseph Campbell

Your life, insights, and relationships are energy in motion. Everything down to the cellular level pulses or vibrates. The quality of these vibrations create form and function. Even DNA in its spiraling, geometric pattern of proportions controls your “form.”

There is order in life to not only give form but to transform energy. This order maintains life whether it be the life of a plant, your body, relationship or business. Source energy of sound and light provides the driving and sustaining power for all existence. The light that creates, enhances and maintains life is specific.

…the light not only from our sun but also from billions upon billions of similar stars is at exactly the right frequency for life as we know it to exist. If it was of a higher frequency- as in x rays and gamma rays-living systems would be blown apart. If it was of a lower frequency, as in radio waves, its energy would be insufficient to be absorbed and utilized.   ~John Davidson  from his book, Subtle Energy.  Subtle Energy book link

This insight can also be applied to personal and business relationships. If the frequency is too high it can show up in lack of order, organization, or grounding. This creates conflict, anxiety, stress, frustration, distrust, or anger. When there is insufficient energy for the relationship or business, this shows up as lack of motivation, feelings of powerlessness, exhaustion, fear or withdrawal.

Feeding the energy circuit not only includes form and function but wave and particle. This creates a magnetic field of attraction. You are all things, current, flow, magnetic field, positive, negative, Yin, Yang, sound, and light. Every issue you have has a particular frequency.  This means that your arguments, back ache  or business difficulties, as well as your joy, feelings of empowerment and grounding, have particular frequencies. Your energy holds huge potential. The good news is that this  potential creates new possibilities that start within you!

To affect positive change, start by working with the filter through which you experience life mentally and emotionally. Clearing the filter where information has been disrupted or stopped helps to enliven and harmonize your Chi energy. This can be done through cleansing your body-mind system of toxic thoughts, substances and feelings, nourishing your body with movement, breath, light, color and relaxation, whole foods and spiritual practice. Couple this with life-enhancing actions based on love to keep you connected to the primal energy of your core essence.

When  you address  inner issues of pain, you enhance the capacity to connect more deeply to your inner brilliance. This impacts both the form and function of your life. Healing through the process of loving every aspect of yourself: positive, negative, light, dark, anger, fear, misconceptions and non-truths, you enhance your life energy. As you acknowledge and integrate the higher purpose and lessons from these places in your life that have brought you where you to where you are, it becomes much more possible to love, value and appreciate the positive inside of you. This, in turn, creates more life energy to strengthen, magnetize and manifest your positive intentions.

Creating Sacred Space in Your Body, Mind and Spirit

Sacred in the true sense of the word means sustainable. As we enter the season of fall, we are entering a time in nature when trees let go of their leaves while at the same time making space for new growth for the coming spring.  This cycle of life acknowledges the need for energy to push down into the core or roots to create sustainable nurture for any time and place called that brings challenges, while also preparing for new opportunities.
It is the same for each of us. Sometimes you experience obstacles that limit your ability to respond to life. This might be related to underlying beliefs and patterns which get in the way of approaching life in a new way or seeing new possibilities in relationships, situations, and events. However, by letting go of these limiting patterns, you create sacred space in your body, mind, and spirit. This allows you to feel rooted and ready to experience new possibilities in your life.

“Peace is a sacred space within, it is the temple of our internal landscape.” ~Jaeda DeWalt

Creating Sacred Space in Your BODY:  This translates into taking care of your body with healthy choices, and setting boundaries in nourishing ways for your self-care and relationships.
Creating Sacred Space in Your MIND:  Observing and attending to your thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes allows you to begin to choose what is supportive and energizing for your life.
Creating Sacred Space in Your SPIRIT: You are a unique person with unique gifts. The inspiration to
share your gifts and talents are essential to your spirit and life purpose.
Creating sacred space in your body, mind, and spirit will allow you to experience greater integrity for your inner truth and what you value.  This is experienced through your body, your thoughts, beliefs, and actions.  In turn, this ripples out into your life in your sense of purpose, your relationships, and how you interact with life.

Handling Pressure: Lessons from an Egg, a Carrot and a Cup of Tea

Which one are you?” This was the question in a recent Qi Gong class in Seattle to illustrate choice in regards to how you meet challenges and pressure. Are you the egg, the carrot, or the cup of tea?

With the Chinese lunar calendar starting a new year, we are currently beginning the transition into spring. One of the key components expressed through this season is flexibility. This is the ability to expand and stay open while listening to the integrity and wisdom of your inner world. In doing so, it includes the capacity to go within to re-energize, restore, and grow from your experiences.

The question makes sense in relation to how you meet challenging situations in your life. Like these three examples, when boiled, each responds differently.

The Egg

When an egg is boiled it not only has a hardened shell on the outside but its interior moves from soft to hard, resulting in a hard-boiled egg. Like the egg sometimes you armor yourself during a difficult situation to protect our emotions. When this happens you can see it ripple into your beliefs about yourself, others and life. This can lead to closing yourself off from anything or anyone that reminds you of the original challenge or pain. It can also lead to a sense of walling off and isolation. When you resonate with this perspective of life it is difficult to see any other option or possibilities. When left unchecked this can be internalized throughout your body-mind system as grief and depression.

The Carrot

Carrots are hard when put into boiling water. However, with the heat, they become soft and sometimes mushy throughout. In life, this can show up as difficulties with setting boundaries or becoming a doormat for the requests of others. It can feel difficult in setting loving boundaries with yourself and with your time. Planning and decision-making might feel close to impossible as you are literally in a state of frustration and confusion while processing frustration that clouds your inner clarity.

The Cup of Tea

The herbs that make tea come from drying, chopping and extraction from the original plants. The leaves, roots and flowers are literally taken from their home.

In the process of boiling them, however, they release their color and flavor while expanding to the cup or container in which they are placed. While doing so they retain their character within the tea bag or tea ball while infusing the water in which they are placed with their medicine. This is accomplished with the flexibility of inner integrity in the environment or container into which they are placed.

When you clean up tea leaves, roots, and flowers after making tea, the original particles are still intact, even though they are now wet. However, in the process of making tea, they have been transported into a creative medium of healing medicine through the process of the simple act of expanding and being flexible in the midst of a boiling situation.

In life, it is important to acknowledge your own inner space and wisdom from life’s lessons or challenges allowing you to expand and compress when you need to based on inner discernment as well as flexibility. Allowing contribution and healing in the process to permeate your experience while retaining your inner space is vital to your wellness and well-being.

Meeting a Challenging Situation

There are two ways of meeting difficulties: you alter the difficulties or you alter yourself meeting them.~Phyllis Bottome

Each of these examples speaks to an aspect of meeting challenging situations. Taking care of yourself may, in fact, involve a time of noticing what is going on inside your experience. Taking care of yourself and giving yourself permission to acknowledge where you are right now allow you to meet the challenges you are facing.

Identifying your current attitude, belief, and concept of time-related to what is happening also imparts greater support to your process. Instead of taking your life in the moment as a tattoo, if you will, feeling isolated or depressed, or frustrated and confused, acknowledge with loving-kindness where you are in the moment. Perhaps there is a mindful awareness or kindness that you can offer yourself to expand, or the need to go inward to release or heal what is keeping you stuck.

Or, perhaps there is a deeper message that comes with making a cup of tea through the inner process within the container of your being in the world. You are still your original self within, no matter where you have been cut away or extracted. To reclaim more of your inner light, take time to replenish your inner reserves to renew for growth that comes like spring. Allow yourself to truly love the person that you are becoming~ through your self-talk, eating whole foods, and taking care of your body, mind, and spirit. Take time for yourself to replenish your reserves. Take care of what you take in through your eyes. Plant new seeds of observation and self-reflection in your life to nourish all of your life for more optimism, love, and inner growth.
